In a recent interview on CBS’ 60 Minutes, Vice President Kamala Harris addressed a range of pressing national and international issues. With just weeks to go until Election Day, Harris’ recent appearance comes at a pivotal moment in her campaign. In this article, we will delve into the details of Kamala Harris’ 60 Minutes interview.

Here’s what Kamala Harris said in 60 Minutes interview

In a recent appearance on CBS News‘ 60 Minutes, Vice President Kamala Harris addressed critical topics such as the Middle East, immigration, and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, amid growing scrutiny of her media presence.

When confronted by reporter Bill Whitaker about the United States’ relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Harris refrained from labeling him a “strong ally.” Instead, she emphasized the ongoing diplomatic efforts between the U.S. and Israel, highlighting the importance of the bond between the American people and their Israeli counterparts. Harris stated, “I think, with all due respect, the better question is, do we have an important alliance between the American people and the Israeli people. And the answer to that question is yes.” (via BBC)

Harris also faced pointed questions regarding her administration’s immigration policies, which have drawn criticism over time. In response to inquiries about whether loosening border restrictions was a misstep, she highlighted the longstanding nature of immigration challenges in the U.S. Harris defended her record by asserting that her team has made substantial strides in reducing illegal immigration. She asserted, “It’s a longstanding problem. And solutions are at hand. And from day one, literally, we have been offering solutions.”

Turning to foreign affairs, Harris made it clear that any negotiation with Russian President Vladimir Putin would require Ukraine’s participation. She rejected Trump’s claims of being able to resolve the conflict swiftly.

While discussing her economic proposals, Harris outlined plans to invest in small businesses and advocating for tax increases on the wealthiest Americans. She defended her approach as more responsible compared to Trump’s proposals. Reportedly, Trump’s approach could potentially add a staggering $7.5 trillion to the national debt, compared to her estimated $3.5 trillion.

Amid the serious discussions, Harris lightened the mood while sharing details about her personal life. Additionally, she revealed that she owns a Glock pistol due to her law enforcement background. The Vice President also confirmed her familiarity with firearms, having used her gun at a shooting range.
