Whenever Robert gives anyone a chance to walk away from evil, I remember the following:

In reference to Israel and Jerusalem, I am not intending to make a political statement — but rather, to emphasize that God is kind and merciful to those in a lifestyle of wrongdoing who chose to quit it for the right reasons.
God is also impartial — and warns both his chosen people — the ancient Israelites, via whom He broadcast His ways and His nature to the rest of humanity whom He also loves — to commit to righteousness and shun evildoing in all its insidious forms.
"Deliver him from going down into the pit [of destruction]; I [God, Jehovah, Yaweh] have found a ransom (a price of redemption, an atonement)!"

The Bible says that Jesus knowingly endured the torturous death — as a substitute for you, in payment for all the sin you would commit, and for all your internal flaws in your human nature; and for the wounds and bent that predispose you to sin.
To be clear: we cannot earn God's salvation.
Salvation is the gift of eternal life by the substitutionary punishment of Jesus Christ (of Nazareth on the cross at Calvary),
whether you are a regular sinner, or whether you are wicked.
"For the joy that was set before Him," He went through with it. What joy??? The joy of knowing you and you knowing Him, during life on Earth and forever in Heaven.

The effect of our good deeds is NOT to make yourself "earn" enough points for salvation — or to make yourself pure enough to be in right standing with God. You can't change the core of your human nature to become completely pure and holy like Him!
Rather, the effect of good deeds is to show and tell God that you want to be on good terms with Him, so much so that He would be a friend who listens to anything you want to talk to Him about.
His response is offer you with the GIFT of eternal life in Christ Jesus. You don't earn it — you just show Him and tell Him that you want it.
Jesus said that the prostitutes would enter the Kingdom of God before the religious leaders of his day:
"Jesus said to them, 'I assure you [chief priests and elders] and most solemnly say to you that the tax collectors [traitors, extortioners] and the prostitutes will get into the kingdom of God before you.'"
— Matthew 21:39b
WHY??
Because the prostitutes were aware of the reality that they were flawed… impure… broken. They didn't waste time to TRY and impress God — Why, when He was offering the FREE GIFT of flawless status, of treating these women and men like they had never sinned, of eternal fellowship here on Earth and going forward?
The religious elites of the day were so stuck on following the religious system in efforts to make themselves righteous. They believed they were only required to follow His laws — but that they did NOT need His mercy. They did not understand that the only way to be in the Kingdom of God was to have His Spirit in them to transform their core human nature.
So be like a prostitute —
(1) Admit that even your best efforts, stuck in your human nature cannot ever make you a daughter or son of God, with an everlasting unbroken friendship with your Creator.
(2) Let God do the heavy work. He has paid the ransom, so take the gift of heaven-bound status! Relax and enjoy, knowing that He's given you free "righteous status". He has given you a new spirit, a new core. You'll never be perfect, but as you live out your life here on Earth, your human spirit has eternal life… and you're already an official citizen of Heaven.
Why? Because HE LOVES YOU WITH STEADFAST, UNENDING LOVE.

There were so many mistakes in this scene. For one, how did he know he had or had not anything to do with working powerlines? There was no company logo on his hi vis jacket. He could have been working at anything, like a truck driver, utility work, building site worker etc etc .
