I know Linda Hamilton did it in the elevator scene with the Colt 1911 also, but she was looking up and there was debris falling from the ceiling during filming.
The first two were more than awesome, but as a terminator fan l have enjoyed all the terminator movies.

I like the little acknowledgement by the T1000 when Sarah chooses to just shoot a foot. It was a good way to immediately know which one was fake.

This severely corroded T-1000 reminds me of the toxic waste guy at the end of Robocop (1987)
There's actually a very telling giveaway that would have helped Sarah know instinctively which was which.
When she pointed the gun at real Reece he mildly flinched, the terminator did not.

How was Sarah confident in the who was the real Kyle?
Few details to consider.
1. Mimicking: A detail from T2 was brought back when the T-1000 mimicked an injured Sarah to draw out John. Only this time it mimicked Kyle.(Given the bizarre alternate realities Sarah MAY have memory of this instance. That it was solely for us as the audience to catch on)
2. The real Kyle arrived on-scene in a frantically panicked state (As humans typically would) Additionally, the T-1000 kept addressing Kyle as a "It" whereas Kyle kept addressing the T-1000 as a "he" Which is something we humans typically do when addressing somebody else. (In a joking way the T-1000 DID say "It's" me Sarah XD and real Kyle was saying "Its HIM")
3. The biggest detail that I find many people missed was when Sarah was aiming her gun at the T-1000 it had no reaction to having the muzzle pointed at it. But when she aimed it at the real Kyle he had a startled reaction by lifting his hands as if he was anticipating on the possibility of being shot as a human typically would react.
For someone who was chosen to protect the mother of the leader of the resistance u would think that Kyle would of thought of saying “only they would know” like every person would when theirs an impostor

Next time if you're a t1000 maybe you shouldn't go near places that have battery acid near it

It is evident that it is going to die in there, so it stays under the barrels of whatever. Of course. Because it is an extremely intelligent killing machine.
It can only truly mimic what it has already killed / came into very close contact with… remember?.. aaaargh!
