Spider-Man 4 Director Set for Next Entry in MCU Franchise
The Spider-Man 4 director has officially been found, with THR reporting that Destin Daniel Cretton has been tapped to direct the next entry in the MCU franchise.
Cretton, who also directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings for Marvel Studios, will be the fourth director to tackle a Spider-Man solo film. Jon Watts directed all three Spider-Man entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and will see his latest film with Brad Pitt and George Clooney, Wolfs, release this year.
Prior to his attachment to Spider-Man 4, Cretton was previously tapped to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty for Marvel Studios following his work on Shang-Chi. However, the director stepped away from the project last year, and it has since been entirely overhauled, with the film now titled Avengers: Doomsday and directed by Joe and Anthony Russo.
What do we know about Spider-Man 4?
The script is being written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, while Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal will serve as producers. Casting for the film is unknown as of this time, although Tom Holland will all but certainly reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film.
