Fans are curious to know about the villain in MGM+’s and Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming series, Sony’s Spider-Man Noir. Speculations are high on whether Tombstone will take on the role of the main antagonist. Viewers are also eager to learn about Robbie Robertson and his role in Marvel Comics, following actor Lamorne Morris‘ casting as the character for the upcoming series. This series, now reportedly titled Spider-Noir, stars Nicolas Cage as the titular character, an aging private investigator who grapples with his former life as his city’s only superhero.

So, is Tombstone the main villain of Spider-Man Noir and who exactly is Robbie Robertson? Here are your answers.

Is Tombstone the main villain of Spider-Man Noir series?

Tombstone is not confirmed to be the main villain of Spider-Man Noir.

According to Variety, Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Brendan Gleeson will reportedly serve as the main villain of Spider-Man Noir. However, it is unknown who Gleeson is playing as of this writing.

However, due to Lamorne Morris’ casting as Robbie Robertson and the character’s confirmed presence in the show, it would not be surprising if Tombstone showed up in any capacity. This is because, in Marvel Comics, Tombstone and Robertson share a significant history, which could play out in the series.

Who Is Robbie Robertson and does he have powers in Marvel Comics?

In Marvel Comics, Robbie Robertson is a high-ranking editor for the Daily Bugle. He is also a close friend of publisher J. Jonah Jameson. He does not have any powers.

As a teenager and high school senior, Robbie Robertson served as the editor of the school newspaper. Growing up, he was also acquainted with Lonnie Lincoln, who suffered from albinism. His albinism made him an outcast among other kids, who gave him the nickname “Tombstone.” However, Robbie was the only one who did not avoid him, which made Lonnie misinterpret his actions as friendship. Lonnie eventually became a school bully and started extorting money from other kids.

Robbie soon caught wind of Tombstone’s bullying and attempted to expose him via the school newspaper. However, Tombstone threatened him to drop his story. As they became adults, Robbie would closely track Lonnie’s activities, after the latter became a mob enforcer and later a crime lord.

Robertson eventually joined the Daily Bugle and ultimately became the city editor. He grew to befriend and mentor Peter Parker after the latter joined the Daily Bugle as a freelance photographer. Robbie also became one of the few who believed Spider-Man was a hero. Robertson would constantly clash with J. Jonah Jameson over the latter’s negative opinion and slander of the webslinger in a professional manner.
