Ready or Not 2: Samara Weaving on Whether She’ll Return for Sequel

The 2019 horror comedy Ready or Not was not only a major hit for Radio Silence, but also catapulted Samara Weaving’s career to greater heights. With Ready or Not 2 confirmed to be “getting figured out,” the modern-day scream queen reveals whether or not she’ll return for the planned sequel.

It was announced earlier this year that the sequel to Ready or Not is moving forward following the success of the first outing, which managed to accumulate impressive box office earnings. However, though a sequel is confirmed to be on the table, there were no reports regarding Weaving’s return.

Will Samara Weaving return for Ready or Not 2?

In an interview with ComicBook, the actress — who can next be seen in the horror movie Azrael this September 27 — revealed that she’s “all in” on the upcoming sequel.

“I’m all in. I think we’re all in, I don’t know. I think we’re all in. I don’t know if we’ve had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We’ve done the spit handshake, but we haven’t cut each other’s hands and rubbed our blood together,” said Weaving.

Ready or Not followed the events of Grace’s wedding, in which her in-laws had some rather strange and dark plans to commemorate the night. This leads Grace to a bloody game of hide-and-seek, a night completely different than she anticipated. As the newlywed tries her best to survive the night, she will soon devise a plan to outsmart the sadistic family she just got married into.

Directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, the black comedy also starred Mark O’Brien as Grace’s husband Alex, Adam Brody as Daniel, Henry Czerny as Tony, Melanie Scrofano as Emilie, Elyse Levesque as Charity, and Nicky Guadagni as Helene.

Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillet won’t reportedly direct the sequel and will instead be helmed by Escape Room filmmaker Adam Robitel. Other details about Ready or Not 2, moreover, are still being kept close to the vest.
