2:55 what song is that?
Patriarchy is a legal structure to maximize a population.
Feminism is a legal structure that diminishes a population.
These tools are a means to an end.
And you are the tool.
Women will always be used.
Men will always be used.
Whaa!
3:11 love the soundtrack here
What’s the name of the song in 2:53 plsssss
She is good at slinging BS that is for sure. Everything she said was nothing but a narrative with NO truth to it whatsoever.
After seeing Dune Part Two, Paul would say that she was right. Marriage is an economical proposition. Since he is now the Emperor, everything is his. Including her.
This movie had so much potential, they really needed to have a different cast for their younger selves. It was hard to watch these women pretending to be children and confusing when it flashed back due to this. Also the costumes were awful.
"I've always known I would marry rich. Why should I be ashamed of that? Well, I believe we have some power over who we love, it isn't something that just happens to a person. Well. I'm not a poet, I'm just a woman. And as a woman, I have no way to make money, not enough to earn a living and support my family. Even if I had my own money, which I don't, it would belong to my husband the minute we were married. If we had children they would belong to him, not me. They would be his property. So don't sit there and tell me that marriage isn't an economic proposition, because it is. It may not be for you, but it most certainly is for me."
You look Beautiful
You ARE beautiful 🤍😭
Paul marrying Irulan to gain control of the Imperium.
“i think the poets might disagree” my favorite line
The costume designers did a great job on this one !
Two young actors right here that are the future of the film business.
Amy ignoring the fact that when a woman is pregnant, she is quite vulnerable and requires a lot of resources. Or the fact that kids are vulnerable and require a lot of resources. Might be the reason why women weren't expected to take care of themselves.
In that way was the marriage between Irulan and -Paul
As much as I hate them getting married, Paul had no other way to gain control of the Imperium.
I am so impressed by Florence and her ability to give such an incredibly fierce and restrained speech at the same time. She doesn't have to scream to get her point across, but believe you me, she definitely gets it across.
0:59 I love how he goes up and poses that way. Both amazing actors and I love that they are now both in Dune Part Two. Love this movie. Thanks for uploading.
she is me, i am her
You can even see him slip Jo’s ring off his finger after their talk in the art studio. Such amazing details!
shes better with an american accent. the british accent always seems so fake when she does it.

Her monologue is a powerful reminder of how narrow a woman's path was in the past. Women knew they had very few opportunities for earning a living. Marriage was the safe option. You can't judge a person for wanting security.
Do women even want to be married , have a husband & have a family ?

Isn't Amy told by her aunt that she is now "the family's only hope" when it comes to money? Of course she feels the pressure to marry someone rich who can support her family.
I sure hope Paul Atreides never tries to give her flowers
I love that this is the exact moment Laurie realizes he’s truly in love with Amy in ways he wasn’t with Jo.
Florence's accent and vocal fry kills me here. She sounds like she grew up in los angeles in the 21st century.
What a time to be alive😅
Rich women back then.
"I want I want I want'
Poor women back then.
'I do I do I do"

This is my Roman Empire
I’m not saying this to be rude to many women in history but to be honest I’m relief and glad that I was not born in that time. I’ll be thanking god for giving me that I lived in this time where I can be free to achieve what I want and that I have rights of my own.
I’ve watched all the movies of little women and I love them all

A former GF and I had a similar discussion at the start of our co-habitating. Three years later she asked if I was ever going to propose. I told her I respected her too much and will not ask her since I did not ever want her to be considered as my property. She left a month later and is now married with 2 kids.
It ended up working out for us because she figured out I was the best economically feasible option (and she proposed when she came back).
