Project Silence Korean movie: What is it about?

The Korean movie Project Silence is a disaster drama about people dealing with dangerous creatures on a collapsing bridge. The story begins with an airport bridge that is on the verge of collapsing. Due to dense fog, the situation gets worse. A series of collisions and vehicle crashes, including an explosion, add pressure to the collapsing bridge.

While the survivors try to figure out the solution, a vehicle carrying Project Silence’s military experimental dogs crashes. The creatures are released, adding more to the chaotic situation. The survivors become the dogs’ target.

On Monday, July 8, 2024, Director Kim Tae-Gon explained the vision behind the story in a press conference. He said, “I seem to ask a lot of questions about how to make the audience’s heart pound when strange elements are involved in an everyday space.” He added, “While the first half of the story unfolds explanatorily, the second half unfolds with a sense of urgency. I thought the audience needed time to become immersed. I hoped that the audience would sympathize with their desire to escape at the end.”

Project Silence Korean movie: Who is in the cast?

The new Korean movie, Project Silence, stars the late Lee Sun-Kyun in the lead role. He plays Cha Jung-Won, a security officer administrator trapped on the bridge with his family. He said, “I think it would have been nice if Sun-Kyun was here. From the time I was preparing the movie, I needed to have an understanding of the equipment and space that take place on the bridge as well as on set. Sun-Kyun Hyung [brother] and I discussed a lot of the parts that I had missed, such as the movement path and the character’s emotions.”
