In 2025, Japan Will be Gripped by Terror─ Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube New Anime Project for 2025

Special Messages from Shou Makura and Takeshi Okano arrived!

Weekly Shonen Jump‘s classic 90’s manga Jigoku Sensei Nube will be adapted into an anime series next
year with the title Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube.

With story by Sho Makura and art by Takeshi Okano, the manga series was syndicated in the storied pages of
Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1993 to 1999, becoming one of the best-selling comics of all time and
amassing 29 million copies in circulation.

The story follows Meisuke Nueno, aka “Nube,” a psychic teacher
with a demon hand, as he battles evil spirits and monsters to
protect his students in this saga that employs elements of
Japanese mythology and folklore to tell a fan-pleasing action
story.

Known for its occult and horror elements on school ghost
stories and urban legends, Nube captivated readers across
generations with his heroic efforts to save his students from
supernatural threats. And now, the saga reveals plans for a new
anime set to premiere in 2025. Alongside this exciting anime
announcement, the team at REMOW would like to share a first
glimpse at the series with an exclusive teaser visual and trailer.

The teaser visual shows Nube’s hand holding a crystal ball in a
school hallway, revealing his trademark demon hand, usually
hidden by a glove. Inside the crystal ball, mysterious children and
eerie shadows lurk…

The teaser trailer showcases an ominous atmosphere of the school
and hallways, featuring glimpses of Nube’s exorcism tools, like the
spirit crystal. You can almost hear the desperate cries for help from
children—it’s a hair-raising experience!

And to commemorate the new anime adaptation, we also received special messages from the original
authors, Shou Makura-sensei and Takeshi Okano-sensei.

Statement from Shou Makura (Story):
I am thrilled that we are getting a new anime adaptation in this Reiwa (modern) era. With the changing
times and advancements in digital animation, the setting has been updated, and the students of Class
5-3 have been given a modern update. Please look forward to a completely new look while retaining
all the charm of Nube.

Statement from Takeshi Okano (Art):
The anime adaptation is finally happening! BANZAI! I can finally share the news! This project has
been in the works for years, and it was tough keeping it a secret. But now, I can shout it out loud! I’m
so happy! Yay! I can’t wait!
