What is Dopesick about?
The series includes a total of 8 episodes. It kickstarts in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Richard Sacker is head of research, development, and marketing at Purdue Pharma. He aggressively developed a morphine and pain relief medicine called Oxycontin. Later in the mid-1990s, Dr Samuel Finnix is reluctant to prescribe class II narcotics to his patients. However, Billy Cutler a sales manager from Purdue succeeds in giving a free bottle of Oxycontin to Finnix. Cutler convinces Finnix that the drug contains a low rate of addiction and has been approved by the FDA. Nevertheless, the real effects of the drug begin to spread and consume innocent lives.
The star cast features Michael Keaton, Peter Sarsgaard, John Hoogenakker, Kaitlyn Dever, and many others in key roles.
