I was in my early 20's in the winter of 89 when crews were filming scenes at the house in Winnetka. My friend lived a block away and we went and watched them film outdoor scenes for about a week.
I don't think any of the big stars were there but I remember them filming the plumbing van and night scenes of the house lit up.
It was really cool to see all of the production lighting and vehicles

Somehow this movie took a really scary premise and made it feel really tense without it ever getting too dark, it toed the line, but ultimately we know that Kevin is more or less Bugs Bunny, and nothing too dire will ever happen to him. Incredible movie.
