Fallout Season 2 Will Have the Same Characters as Season 1, Scripts Are ‘In Hand’

Fallout Season 2 will feature the same characters as the first season, meaning it won’t be an anthology series.

The first season of Fallout premiered on Amazon Prime Video on April 10, 2024. The series, which has been renewed for a second season, recently earned 17 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including Best Drama and Best Actor Drama (Walton Goggins).

Speaking with Variety, Amazon MGM Studios’ Jennifer Salke and Vernon Sanders were asked if Fallout Season 2 will feature the same characters as the first season or if it will pivot to an anthology format.

“We are committed to our journey with our beloved characters. Such a great Season 2 coming,” Salke said.

The scripts for Fallout Season 2 are already “in hand”

Sanders added, “We’ve been fortunate because this was the vision all along. I think we’re ahead of schedule, in terms of being able to get Season 2 back. We don’t have an exact launch date yet, but we’ve already gotten scripts in hand, and I think the fans of Season 1 will really love where we’re going for Season 2.”

“I saw some of the talk of, is this an anthology? And it does have a lot of doors we can go through, which is the beauty of the IP,” Salke continued. “But we are fully committed, and we’re all on this journey with the characters that we’ve met and loved in Season 1.”

Based on the popular video game franchise by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, Fallout Season 1 starred Goggins as The Ghoul/Cooper Howard, Ella Purnell as Lucy MacLean, Aaron Moten as Maximus, Kyle MacLachlan as Hank MacLean, Moisés Arias as Norm Maclean, and Xelia Mendes-Jones as Dane.

Fallout Season 1 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. A release date for Fallout Season 2 has not yet been announced.
