Diddy Docuseries in the Works at Netflix From 50 Cent
A Diddy docuseries is in the works from Netflix and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, which will focus on the sex trafficking and racketeering charges that were recently levvied against Sean “Diddy” Combs.
What do we know about the Diddy docuseries?
According to a report from Variety, Netflix has tapped Alexandria Stapleton to direct the project, which is already in production. 50 Cent will produce the project via his G-Unit Film & Television banner, with Stapleton also producing via House of Nonfiction.
In an exclusive statement to Variety, 50 Cent and Stapleton said that the story is a “complex narrative” that spans decades, and their goal is to “give a voice to the voiceless.”
“This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far,” 50 Cent and Stapleton said. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”
Earlier this month, Combs was arrested in New York City and charged on three counts, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Diddy pleaded not guilty to the charges made against him at his arrest, but remains in custody. He was denied bail at his appeal hearing.
Alongside the charges, Diddy has also been alleged to have made unwanted sexual advances and sexually assaulted other people as well. His former employee, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, recently alleged that Diddy made unwanted sexual advances toward him in 2023. In May of this year, CNN also reported on a video that had surfaced that showed Combs attacking musical artist Cassie in a hotel, to which he acknowledged and said he took “full responsibility” for.
