Bryan Danielson Shares Insights on His AEW & WWE Championship Wins

Bryan Danielson is among the few names who have captured the World Heavyweight Title in both WWE and AEW. The list also includes Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and CM Punk, who have all held the top prize in both promotions.

Before arriving in AEW in 2021, Bryan Danielson made a name for himself in WWE as Daniel Bryan. In 2014, he achieved the unthinkable by capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 30. He competed in a high-stakes triple threat match against Randy Orton and Batista. However, Bryan overcame the odds, securing the victory by forcing Batista to tap out to the Yes Lock. His win at WrestleMania 30 is still considered one of the best moments in WWE history.

In 2021, Bryan Danielson took a bet on himself and made the jump to AEW. Since he arrived in All Elite Wrestling, the wrestler has attempted to capture the World Title on several occasions but fell short. However, he finally captured the title last month at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium against Swerve Strickland. As Bryan Danielson has now won the World Championship in both promotions and on major stages, he has recently reflected on his achievements in both WWE and AEW.

What Bryan Danielson revealed about his world title wins?

Bryan Danielson recently appeared on Justin Barrasso’s Undisputed, where he reflected on his championship victories at WrestleMania 30 and AEW All In. He noted the differences and similarities between winning the title in AEW and his victory a decade earlier at WrestleMania 30.

“It’s interesting to see all the differences and similarities between winning the belt now in AEW to winning the belt 10 years ago at WrestleMania 30. The moments were both super cool. My sister and my nieces got to come in the ring with me at WrestleMania. Brie was in Gorilla, and she was told not to come out,” he said.

Danielson further continued, “That was a little odd to me. This one at Wembley, I was overflowing with joy and gratitude. My son loves when I powerbomb him at the house. If I won, he said he wanted me to powerbomb him in the ring. I was going to, but he was too busy chasing the confetti. It was magic all the way around.”

Bryan Danielson is currently at the top of his game in AEW. However, tensions have risen with his Blackpool Combat Club members, who attacked him at AEW All Out a few weeks ago. Danielson is scheduled to face Nigel McGuinness at AEW Grand Slam, which is set to take place next week on Dynamite.
