When my dad and I watched this movie, he threw his hands up worried and slightly shouted "Whoa!" when the first lion ran up to Martin. But I could tell it was going to be a hug. My dad's face just showed he was in total shock watching the hug happen. I explained to him how I have seen this sort of thing with real lions and people. Like Christian the lion hugging his two men owners who haven't seen each other in a year. Or another video of a woman kissing a lion on the face, etc. It truly is amazing how someone can bond with a lion. You just need to make sure you've been with them since they were cubs and give them respect so they can learn to trust you.

The lion adopted a friendship strategy instead of eating him, only for the reason that he confused him with Chuck Norris
