Alien: Isolation 2 Officially Announced, Dev Issues Statement

In space, no one can hear you scream. But on the internet, Creative Assembly and Sega heard fans’ screams loud and clear. Alien: Isolation 2 is officially in the works.

Creative Assembly in early development on Alien: Isolation 2

On the 10th anniversary of the original, creative director Al Hope announced Alien: Isolation 2 in a statement on X (formerly Twitter). The upcoming sequel is currently in “early development,” and platforms are not specified.

“On the 10th anniversary, it seems only fitting to let you know that we have heard your distress calls loud and clear,” says Hope. “Today, I’m delighted to confirm, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development. We look forward to sharing more details with you when we’re ready.”

Hope also thanks all the fans who have supported the original entry for the past decade, as well as giving kudos to the team who made it.

“Whether you’re a nightmare mode veteran or stepping into Amanda Ripley’s shoes for that thrilling first attempt (good luck!), we wanted to express our deep gratitude,” says Hope. “It was a dream project brought to life by a brilliant team, and the reception you have given it over the years is extraordinary.”

Alien: Isolation originally released on October 7, 2014. In our review, Christopher Jimenez said, “This game won’t please everyone (nothing does), but it is a hell of an excellent ride. Like I said, the game had a lot of resistance coming in, but it does its job nicely, giving us a Alien game worth having.”

The Alien franchise has been on a bit of a resurgence lately. The recently released Alien: Romulus received well critically, and was a return to form for the film series. A new FX show called Alien: Earth is also in the works. It is slated for a 2025 release window, and will premiere on Hulu.
