Vampires or any dominant villains, like Terminators, Predators etc. (except Xenomorph!) are always, like literally ALWAYS, toying with their food/victims—tossing them around, dragging out the scene just to keep the audience entertained.

This movie was hilarious but did not care about these characters right here and didn't recognize their actors, I wanted them to die while I wanted the actor that played Shaggy in Scooby Doo and the blonde girl from that one movie to live plus they were the only exciting characters.
Actually, Joey had to endure three vampires blowing up in front of her 😅
Proper vampires, even the most basic ones like this, have immense endurance. Her hiting him is the same as hiting a wall.
