The Malayalam actor, who is the son of superstar Mammootty, began his journey in the industry in 2012 with the movie Second Show. Salmaan was last seen playing the role of Captain in Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD. While he just had a cameo in the film, his powerful performance had a lasting effect on the viewers. Lucky Baskhar

Dulquer Salmaan will soon be seen taking up the role of Baskhar in the upcoming movie Lucky Baskhar. Set against the backdrop of the 80s, the film is directed by Venky Atluri. It also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary as the leading lady. Per the movie’s teaser, its plot follows the story of a middle-class bank employee Baskhar. While he seems to be an honest and reliable, the clip also shows a completely different side of his story that his colleagues are unaware of. It turns out that he is a mastermind who knows how to make money and already owns a fortune. Moreover, his journey to become a rich man is what frames the film’s plot.

Lucky Baskhar was earlier set to hit the theaters on September 27, 2024. However, the movie has now been rescheduled and will have its pan-India release on September 7, 2024. It is believed that the makers did not want to clash with other biggies at the box office, including Jr NTR’s much-awaited Devara: Part 1.

Suriya 43

Director Sudha Kongara and Tamil star Suriya are all set to join hands once again for the upcoming movie tentatively titled Suriya 43. So far, the makers have kept the film’s official title under wraps and its second half is Puranaanooru. Besides Suriya, the project also stars Dalquer Salmaan, Nazriya Fahadh, and Vijay Varma.

There have been many rumors about the movie going on the floors in the past several months. In March, Suriya gave an update on the film and revealed that it requires more time. He wrote, “Dear All, Puranaanooru requires more time. This collaboration is very special and close to our hearts. We are working towards giving you our best. We will be going on floors very soon. Thank you for your constant love and support.”

Aakasam Lo Oka Tara

On the occasion of Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday, his latest venture was announced. The actor has signed a Telugu movie titled Aakasamlo Oka Tara. Directed by Pavan Sadineni, the film is produced by Geetha Arts, Light Box, Swapna Cinemas, and Vyjayanthi Movies.

Along with the announcement, its makers also dropped its first poster featuring Dulquer. In the image, the protagonist could be seen clad in a casual shirt and carrying a towel on his shoulder.

Guns & Gulaabs Season 2

The filmmaker duo Raj & DK came up with the comedy crime thriller, Guns & Gulaabs, in 2023. The web series features a stellar star cast, which includes Dulquer Salmaan, Rajkummar Rao, Adarsh Gourav, Gulshan Devaiah, Pooja Gor, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Satish Kaushik, and more. After a very successful first season, the makers have announced Guns & Gulaabs Season 2. Most actors are set to reprise their respective roles in the upcoming edition and the buzz around it is noteworthy.

The first season’s official synopsis reads, “In the cartel-run town of Gulaabgunj, an unprecedented opium deal pulls a big-city cop and a lovesick mechanic into its chaotic clutches.”
