Avengers 5: Doomsday: Will Kang Return? What Happens to His Dynasty?
At San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2024, Marvel Studios announced Avengers 5’s new title, Doomsday to replace Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. But how will Marvel handle the replacement of Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror?
What will happen to all his variants? Here’s all you need to know.
Will Jonathan Majors’ Kang cameo in Avengers 5: Doomsday?
Do not expect Jonathan Majors to return, as Marvel Studios fired him from all Kang variant roles. A court found Majors guilty of harassment in the second degree and assault in the third degree, leading to his immediate removal from his duties as Kang the Conqueror.
He was initially introduced as He Who Remains in Loki. Following that, he played several other variants of Kang in Loki Season 2 and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, the buildup is going nowhere as Marvel changes course with Avengers: Doomsday. This will lead into Avengers: Secret Wars in a very different way than originally planned.
How will Dr. Doom replace Jonathan Majors’ Kang Dynasty variants?
At SDCC 2024, Marvel announced Robert Downey Jr. as Victor Von Doom, replacing Jonathan Majors’ Kang. Downey’s character is likely a Tony Stark variant from an alternate Earth. Transitioning from the hero of the Infinity Saga, Downey will now play the biggest villain of the Multiverse Saga.
Marvel has not officially revealed how they will address the absence of Kang and his variants in Avengers 5: Doomsday. However, since Kang will not appear, Dr. Doom may be responsible for the doom of all Kang variants across the multiverse. It could be a brief line or scene showing how Doom wipes out Rama Tut, Scarlet Centurion, and other Kang variants.
That way, Avengers 5: Doomsday could establish him as God Emperor Doom. He could become a true threat to the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and all other heroes across the Multiverse in Avengers: Secret Wars.
