I was so young in the movie theatre watching this, and I have loved these movies every since.. I remember I was sitting up like everyone sat there until the lights came on..Good movie🇺🇲
I never noticed this until now: While doing his war cry at the end of the movie, Ra holds the exact same position as Elias when he died. The difference of course being that Ra was unharmed.
Ra holding his war toys. Elias just dying. I wonder what that's all about. Maybe just a reflection on the futility and randomness of war? I dunno. Maybe it was unintentional. It's a good spot nonetheless.
Elias makes the same gesture with his arms after he's shot that Larry makes in TPVLF after his speech about how war is what's truly obscene and ugly. Never noticed that common thread before. Amazing symbolism at work there.
I went to see this movie with two friends when it came out. The only film that ive ever seen that was that emotionally draining. I saw it in there faces.

A profound salute to all the brave individuals who free their nations from occupation and invasion. Let all of Palestine be independent and free, every inch of it.

Survive!
Stone not religious it clearly a Christ metaphor. Elias betrayed, dying horrifically for their sins.
That was so sad
Great movie. Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger and others made good roles.
Maybe best war movie ever.
Is this a skit based on the Tropic Thunder movie?😂
SURVIVE!
This may be the most dramatic scene in the history of the dramatic arts, i.e., music, film, theater…. all of it. For all of human history.
So, this is the scene that trigger the parody scene on TROPIC THUNDER!
I don’t know… I think Ben Stiller did it better lol

Worst death scene ever. But still one of the most recognizable

Did you know that the character SCAR from LION KING, was based on Barnes character? (Hence the `scars`)
This paints a great picture what's war gonna be like in the Philippines 😑
Elias 😮😢
Scoreboard
The scene that will always be the defining moment of Willem Defoe's splendid career.
The look from Charlie sheen at the end was so powerful, really says it all about how he felt about it.

Apparently the director of this movie, Oliver Stone did service in 'Nam in real.
The music is "ADIAGO FOR STRINGS" by Samuel Barber, compliments this scene perfectly.
Seriously though….the music/score. It makes it so amazing!! 😊😊😊
Hayden
Me hace recordar varias cosas 😢 hasta puede que una lagrima haya derramado
Sigue doliendo como si tuviera 8 años
