  1. Leana Heady's character was stupid, had to show the armed, masculine queen kicking butt, for all the feminists. However, Eva Green's character was awesome. A woman trained and experienced in warfare, Greene made sense and was great.

  2. Fun fact: Artemisia was a real person, a Greek, who secured protection from the Persians by agreeing to have her ships join the Persian fleet. She, being a shrewd observer, saw when the tide of battle changed, had her ship change its sail to one of an Athenian ship and sailed out of the battle unharmed. She continued to rule her island city and survived for a number of years. The real story is a much better one.

  3. Here in this movie series Xerxes literally looking and kind of dressed like Imnhotep IV, aka Pharaoh Akhenaten of the Egyptian Empire, who lived some 800 years before Xerxes the Great was born, but Akhenaten's empire was much smaller compared to the Achaemenid Persian Empire.

  5. there is also a hint of inaccuracy about elephants etc being used by Persian army. If this was so common, then 150 years later Alexander army wouldn't struggle so much in India after winning over Persia.

  6. lol I had to laugh at the inaccuracies, but that aside…Queen Gorgo was soooo badass! Also, how could the Persians not notice the Spartan fleet approaching??? They all acted soo surprised lol…

  7. I liked this movie more than the first ones
I know it's not historic accurate but this history doesn't concern me so i enjoyed it, but i do get it why people hated this movie, i would also hate a indian movie based on history but showed wrong history to the audience

  8. This scene drew flak because it depicted Queen Gorgo to be more badass than the actual Spartans. Well of course like the entire movie everything is an exaggeration

BUT… it should be noted that Spartan women were exceptionally fit among all Greek women. They also learned gymanstics, a little wrestling and boxing. Their role was to mother the best breed of soldiers the world has seen and so they themselves had to be fit. This is why when an Athenian asked Gorgo "What makes you think you have the right to speak among men" she replies "Because only Spartan Women can give birth to real men",
