Mommy’s Home: Psychological Horror Movie Heads to Lionsgate From I Love My Dad Director
SXSW prize-winning filmmaker James Morosini is set to bring his upcoming psychological horror movie Mommy’s Home to Lionsgate.
Mommy’s Home tells the story of a young father whose family life is thrown into terrifying disarray by the re-emergence of his mother. Sounds normal enough, right? Well, his mother has been cryogenically preserved since the age of 24.
James Morosini will write and direct the movie. Craig Flores, Dawn Olmstead, and Anonymous Content are producers for Mommy’s Home. David Levine, Garrett Kemble, and Ryan Schwartz will executive produce on behalf of Anonymous Content. Scott O’Brien and Jon Humphrey will oversee the project for Lionsgate.
Mommy’s Home Director deal with odd parental issues again
Morosini has already been acclaimed for tackling estranged dads in a ”unique” way with the 2022 movie I Love My Dad. So it’s only natural that he’d go for estranged mothers next.
Morosini directed, wrote, and starred in I Love My Dad, Which is based on the true story of a father who catfishes his estranged son. Morosini starred alongside Patton Oswalt, Lil Rel Howery, Claudia Suleweski, Amy Landecker, and Rachel Dratch. For its premiere at SXSW 2022, the movie won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award.

When not behind the camera, Morosini has been appearing in various projects as an actor. He’s appeared in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, American Horror Story, and Feud. He’s soon set to star in the Netflix horror comedy It’s What’s Inside from Greg Jardin.
Hopefully, we’ll see and hear more on Mommy’s Home in the coming months.
