Out of everything what doesn't make sense to me is that his "friends" insist he made the song. It could've been a band or singer they haven't heard of but no, they assume he's just being very arrogant. Especially after the fact he's clearly saying it wasn't his song.
The brief pause after the first verse says so much. He almost seems slightly shocked as he happens to glance up at her, wondering why a song he believes she's heard hundreds of times is invoking such a reaction. Her brief facial expression and the way she says 'go on' is one of my favourite parts of the scene- third only to Patel's fantastic performance of Yesterday, and of course to the fact that a song as beautiful as Yesterday even actually exists in the first place.
Unless I missed something and maybe this was heaven, and Jack actually died in the car accident… unless that, it would have been SOOOOOOOOOOO cool to turn this into a scifi spin and have it be that time travelers went back, caused a butterfly effect, and just SOME people still remembered the old timeline, etc etc etc.
I hate how they made him sound arrogant after the song. I understand why. He hadnt realized no one knew who The Beatles were and he was saying it was a great song because of them but i just feel like it killed a beautiful moment and that was sad.
This is one of the most underrated movies. I watched it again and during the whole movie I kept thinking what if the Beatles really never existed. What a sad world that would be.
I'm not a huge Beatles fan but I have to admit this movie covered some of their best songs and I really enjoyed the movie. I have all their albums or most of them but only a few songs are on my play list. After watching this, I think I need to add a few more, lol.
When this movie's trailer rolled on netflix, this exact scene played there. I just got hooked to the lyrics unknowingly that it was from Beatles(Never heard this song before)! and my reaction was same as hers thinking this could be movie's original score till the character explains it being from Beatles. While Lily is spot on with her expressions, the actor nailed the song too!
Funny thing about "Fix You" and Coldplay. Chris Martin was supposed to play the part that Ed Sheeran got. Jack Malik was supposed to be opening up for Coldplay on tour.
si no existe en ese mundo alterno "yesterday" entonces no existiria "besame mucho" de consuelito velazquez porque, porque la base de Yesterday es besame mucho
That's an all-time GREAT GREAT GREAT movie scene. (And now someone will respond with, "Well, it's no horse-head-in-the-bed scene from "The Godfather.")

ITS NOT COLDPLAY HAHAHAHAHA
"it's not Cold Play." Yeah, it's actually good. Has Cold Play ever written a good song? Not to my knowledge.

the part I enjoyed the most is that it raises the question "how much of your world would you be able to reconstruct?"
Plot twist: he became brain damaged and all that is happening is just his imagination
I love that his reaction was “this is one of the most complicated jokes ever“ 🤣 great writing
👽👽😎😎🙃🙃🥳🥳 Aliens at megastructure cmd know that feeling… brings a tear to our black eyes
Man she's beautiful
actually, if there were no beatles, other great muscians would be in different ways and forms. whole pop history would be changed.

This movie made me appreciate The Beatles all over. Rocky is hilarious throughout this whole movie, too.
Such a beautiful song.

PLaying a Beatles song on guitar or piano for me has been like hearing it again for the first time. Highly recommend.
It’s not bloody fix you carol

Neutral milk hotel❤️
I love how smooth he sings the parts "…I believe in yesterday", and "…yesterday came suddenly". Pauls original has a small pause between the words.
They really used Coldplay to compare the Beatles 😂
Believe in LoVe❤💜💛
This movie is a troll on young kids
Lilly James is soooo beautiful 🥰
Me and my classmates in highschool:
I love how he got so offended when the girl said "it's not coldplay, it's not fix you" lmao

This movie was "inspirated" by a french comic called Yesterday ,and a french movie called Jean Philippe
Plot Twist: He was in a coma the entire time and it was all a dream.
I throw away weapon all sprint or power

It's really amazing when you think of all the great songs the Beatles wrote in roughly 8 years. Truly good music is timeless.
