This scene got me to be a fan of Godzilla 2014 in fact, be a fan of the monsterverse as well I mean if I never watched that scene from Godzilla 2014 I wouldn’t be a Godzilla fan
In hindsight, I love how each Monsterverse movie is unique from one another. Godzilla 2014 is easily the most serious in tone, a real drama/disaster movie in the vein of the original 1954 movie. I prefer King of the Monsters, but this was definitely A strong introduction to the series and it helped revitalize interest in the big G.

When I first saw Godzilla , I was lukewarm on it. I had gone in with high expectations; but when Bryan Cranston disappeared from the movie and was more-or-less replaced by his completely boring son, it was kind of a gut punch.
Watching it a few years after that though, it really began to grow on me. It certainly isn't perfect, but the Godzilla scenes are awesome and they are everything they should have been. Godzilla absolutely badass in this movie.
One of the only things the movie really lacked was an interesting protagonist.
The film does an incredible job with showing the scenes of destruction from the civilian's POV.
Also, this was the last film that I ever saw with an ex-girlfriend of mine.
She was pretty annoyed with me when we accidentally went into the wrong screening.

I'm always with the same question. How does Godzilla stand on the gigantic ocean and walk like on land. The tone of this movie will never be unmatched.
The monarch series retconned this scene from the 2014 movie, making it so the bus was stopped by a fallen support cable. The Japanese teacher lady helps kids off the bus, but falling debris collapses the bridge at the front of the bus, and some children lose their lives. Not sure why they did that.
To be fair, Godzilla did stop to look at the obstacle and figure out a way around it. Just got pushed into the bridge when the navy started shooting at him.
