Poom Phuripan’s character, Joe, does not die in the My Stand-In finale as he chooses to stay alive for Ming. While the former recovers, the latter’s mother visits him at the hospital. She comes across Joe’s mother and reveals that she was the one who sent documents to her place.

Ming’s mother then asks her not to be mad at Joe and says their sons love each other. The former also asks how Joe’s mother came to accept that her son likes men. She answers that she did not at first, but after they had a fight and Joe almost ended his life, she realized, “No matter which kind of love it was, it’s all ordinary.” Joe’s mother continues and says what is not ordinary is “a mother who didn’t care about her son’s feelings.” Later, both the mothers visit Joe together as they make up with their respective sons.

Does Up Poompat & Poom Phuripan’s Thai drama have a happy or sad ending?

While Ming and Joe watch a shooting star, the former heartedly apologizes to the latter for everything he did in the past. Joe then says that the accident and being in the new body wasn’t Ming’s fault alone. The former says, “It’s because I chose to take that job.” Joe asks Ming to stop blaming himself and forgives him, and asks him to forgive himself, too.

He answers that despite almost dying, he still returned to the latter. “Because without him, I don’t know what I’ll be living for,” Joe says. Ming’s father then says he doesn’t like him because the two’s “crazy love” almost made him lose his son.

After losing Joe in the accident, Ming was in poor condition. He did not eat and refused to go home while he waited for the former to return. The latter’s father then says he does not want his son to be sad like that again. He asks Joe to promise he will not disappear and make Ming sad. Afterward, Joe joins Ming and his family for a meal. The latter’s father also returns his business to him after previously kicking him out.
