That pilot was worthy. I'm glad they showed him ejecting instead of getting killed in the explosion
even though this was just a basic copy of the better old version. it's still much better than anything in modern cinema

I just realized that the 5th gen fighter wasn’t able to lock on to maverick when at low altitude, but maverick was. Does anyone now why?

I love how the movie’s only real use of CGI was so that they could do dogfights. Tom Cruise is a total nutjob but by god his movies are always a great time.

That gun sound is gonna give me an aneurysm. It sounds like something the average texan would have.
Not the 6 foot long autocannon that can put 1,300 pounds of lead down range in a minute. Search some videos of f-16s strafing and they sound so much scarier in my opinion
One of the things I like about this scene is when the enemy fighter (0:54) does an evade maneuver that catches even Maverick off guard. After decades of experience and flights, Maverick still has more things to learn about which is a lesson to all of us. No matter how much you've seen or how much you've done, there will always be something or someone that will teach that you still have more things to learn and experience.
