He didnt mean to actually do it and had no memory of what happened and when he noticed young jupe under the table he tried to communicate with him using american sign language and it translates to ‘what happend family’ which means the chimp had no intention in hurting anyone

This scene from nope is incredible. It's scary af and dramatic. In the end, when the baloon pops (because when a baloon pops the monkey, "Gordy", go crazy) the monkey turns back to normal and we can see that it doesn't understand whats going on and it's pretty sad when he realize that no one's there. And when it sees the boy, he friendly offers his hand to get a punch, but the Police arrives and shot him.
This is an example of how rude animals can be in inappropriate situations, and they should be kept free so this situations don't happen.
Also a great movie.
Scariest thing is all the people in the comments calling this ape a monkey.

I feel so sad for Gordy in this movie. The chimp was simply acting the way any scared animal would. It’s more sad that he got shot because chimpanzees are endangered and idiot humans are a dime a thousand.

At some stage a chimp is always going to want to chimp, I think these naive people forget that.
Stuff like this is one of the reasons why working with children and animals in movies, sitcoms and TV series is something nobody dares to do.
