No Longer Allowed in Another World episode 1, titled “I Must Commit Double-Suicide!,” begins with renowned writer Osamu Dazai (addressed as Sensei) and his beloved, Sacchan, promising to be together forever. They plan to do so by committing a double suicide.

After a truck hits them, Sensei wakes up in another world. Annette tells him he has been chosen as an adventurer to save the alternate world. However, Sensei swallows poison to kill himself, worrying Annette. Upon investigating his background, she finds out he is exceptionally weak and has no superpowers.

As Sensei leaves Annette’s church, she realizes he is different from every other adventurer she has met. Outside, Sensei languidly watches as a Death Tree almost kills a girl. Soon, the tree captures Sensei, but he feels happy to die.

However, the tree sucks Sensei’s poison and is thereby killed. The girl, Tama, follows Sensei as her rescuer, and the pair visits Annette’s church. Annette is delighted to see him, but Sensei only wants to ask for Sacchan’s whereabouts.

The trio heads to town, but Sensei listlessly finds a casket to sleep in and asks the women to wake him up when they reach town. No Longer Allowed in Another World episode 1 ends with a princess looking into the sunset from a castle.
