Huge Match Reportedly In The Works for WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes, the present WWE Undisputed Champion, is preparing for his upcoming showdown against World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at WWE Crown Jewel. This is due to a major announcement made by Triple H last week at WWE Bad Blood 2024.
Triple H announced a new annual event, WWE Crown Jewel, scheduled for November 2 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He revealed that the top champions from the men’s and women’s divisions of RAW and SmackDown will compete against each other. While neither championship will be on the line, the winner of the match will be crowned the Crown Jewel Champion.
As the top champions of their respective brands, Cody Rhodes and Gunther will face each other for the first time in a singles match at WWE Crown Jewel. On WWE RAW, they exchanged words, with both stars taking jabs at each other.
Rhodes is gearing up for a battle against the Ring General for the Crown Jewel Championship. Recent reports suggest that WWE is planning a major opportunity for Rhodes down the line.
WWE’s plans for Cody Rhodes moving forward
Last month, WWE announced the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The show is set to take place on December 14 at the Nassau Memorial Veterans Coliseum in Long Island. With the revival of this iconic show, the promotion plans to deliver premium live event-quality matches.
Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is currently planning for Cody Rhodes to defend the WWE Undisputed Championship against Kevin Owens. He reported that the promotion intends to feature more major matches on the show to ensure a pay-per-view quality experience for the fans.
Cody Rhodes recently clashed with his friend Kevin Owens following Bad Blood. Both stars are reportedly set to compete at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Prior to that, fans will look forward to Rhodes’ match at the Survivor Series on November 30 in Canada.
