We are excited to announce that the 10th installment of the “just walk left” J-horror game
series “Tsugunohi,” titled “Tsugunohi -Supernatural Supermarket-,” will be released on
Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 starting at 0:00 AM on October 10th.
This game was originally released on December 22, 2022, coinciding with the 10th
anniversary of the “Tsugunohi” series. Set in a closed supermarket, it garnered significant
attention upon release for its enhanced horror depictions and a story focusing on character
relationships.
On February 1, 2023, it was released as DLC for the Steam® version. Now, the release on
Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 has been confirmed.

【What is the “Tsugunohi” series?】

This horror game follows the protagonist as they move horizontally through various stages, representing
everyday life gradually being invaded by terror. It’s a popular representative work by ImCyan, an indie
game creator known for numerous horror titles.

Since the release of the first episode in 2012, which became an online sensation for being “super scary!”,
the series has continued to gain popularity, primarily through YouTubers’ “Let’s Play” videos. In August
2021, a Steam® version compiling the series was released, and it has also been developed for various
consoles including Nintendo SwitchTM.

Collaborations with legendary virtual artist Kizuna Ai, hololive Vtubers Inugami Korone and Houshou
Marine, and game commentators Odaken and Pocky have also generated buzz. As of 2024, “Tsugunohi”
related videos have amassed over 150 million views, making it one of the most talked-about indie games

ImCyan. Game author. In 2005, he won the Gold Prize at the Techwin Contest Park for “Lost Maria,” and in
December 2012, his horror game “Tsugunohi,” which was released in December 2012, attracted a lot of
attention for its simple yet innovative style. Since then, he has created a variety of games in the
“Tsugunohi” series. His style of transforming Japan’s uniquely humid and “damp” atmosphere into an
expression of fear based on his own aesthetics has been highly acclaimed. In recent years, he has been
actively trying his hand at gothic horror and collaborating with VTubers, further evolving his unique
worldview. In 2023, a package containing past works was released for Nintendo Switch, followed by a
PlayStation®4 release in 2024. Additionally, collaborations with game commentators have been
developed, and the series continues to gain popularity through gameplay streams, attracting even more
