What Happened to IShowSpeed’s Backflip Challenge?
Renowned YouTuber IShowSpeed recently stirred a storm on social media, after he decided to attempt breaking the world record of most backflips in 24 hours. Currently, the record for most backflips in 24 hours is 1,001 backflips, which was made by Austria native, Nico Scheicher back in 2019. After IShowSpeed announced the livestream of the world record-breaking attempt many fans were rooting for him. However, seems like IShowSpeed is yet to do so.
Here are all the details of what happened to IShowSpeed’s backflip challenge.
IShowSpeed backs out from backflip challenge
IShowSpeed has dropped out from the challenge of breaking the world record of doing the most backflips in 24 hours.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on October 8, the popular online streamer made the announcement, receiving approximately 9.6 million views. He wrote, “BREAKING THE RECORD FOR MOST BACKFLIPS IN 24 HOURS. TOMORROW.”
IShowSpeed started the live stream on October 9 and was consistent in his attempt until he reached 300 backflips in just a span of 3 hours. During this, another YouTuber Jake Paul decided to encourage the streamer in his attempt. He had a massage therapist come to IShowSpeed’s home to help him with the risk of any muscle strain. At that point, the latter was at 360 backflips.
However, as per Dexerto, the attempt started to take a toll on IShowSpeed’s legs when he reached 460 backflips. User Fearbuck stated in an X post, “IShowSpeed can’t do any more backflips after reaching 461 backflips, as his legs have given out. He’s now taking a risky break to nap for a few hours but is scared his legs will be sore afterward.”
Soon after taking a nap, IShowSpeed got back to the attempt, but unfortunately, he had to give up at 660 backflips. It wasn’t just his fans who addressed the attempt, but also the Guinness World Records faculty. They mentioned in an X post, “We had no idea this was happening but you do you bro.”
