WWE Superstar Ethan Page Reflects on His AEW Exit
WWE Superstar Ethan Page, who is experiencing huge success in NXT, recently opened up about his departure from AEW. On the May 28th edition of WWE NXT, Ethan Page made a shocking arrival in the promotion. His arrival in WWE surprised many, as few had anticipated it.
Following his debut, Page set his sights on the WWE NXT Championship. At WWE NXT Battleground 2024 at UFC Apex, Page competed in a Fatal Four-Way match for the NXT Championship against then-champion Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, and Shawn Spears. Page emerged victorious after Williams hit a Trick Shot on him, leading to a pinfall victory over Evans.
Amidst this success in WWE, Page reflected on his time in AEW. He made his debut in AEW back in 2021 and participated in several high-profile matches. However, he was never given the proper time and opportunities to showcase his talents. Now, as Page enjoys his success in the black and yellow brand, he recently spoke about his decision to leave All Elite Wrestling.
Why did Ethan Page decide to leave AEW?
WWE NXT Champion Ethan Page recently appeared on Insights with Chris Van Vliet, where he discussed his decision to leave AEW. Page explained that it was the right moment to move on. He felt that he was not receiving the same opportunities in AEW that he found in NXT.
He stated, “It was time [to leave AEW]. I wasn’t getting what I magically got [in NXT], which is the opportunity to show what I bring to the table. This here, to me, is preparation meets opportunity, and the amount of preparation I got is a lot. 17, 18 years of preparation.”
Ethan Page wrestled his final match in AEW last December against Kenny Omega on Collision. Before coming to WWE, he was also removed from AEW’s roster page, signaling the end of his tenure with the promotion.
Now, as the WWE NXT Champion, Page will defend his title next week on the WWE NXT. The debut edition on The CW Network will feature Ethan Page against Trick Williams, with CM Punk acting as the special guest referee.
