Thunderbolts* Trailer: Why Fans Think Lewis Pullman’s Sentry Is the Villain
The much-awaited trailer of Thunderbolts* is finally here. The upcoming action-adventure movie revolves around a team of superheroes going on dangerous missions for the government. While the powerful star cast and the MCU easter eggs are already sparking discussions, there is one more thing intriguing the fans. Fans are speculating Sentry played by Lewis Pullman to be the villain. So, did the Thunderbolts* trailer hint at Lewis Pullman’s Sentry being the villain?
Here is everything you need to know about the character and its identity in the trailer.
Is Lewis Pullman’s Sentry the main villain in the Thunderbolts* trailer?
Although it is not confirmed if Lewis Pullman’s Sentry is the main villain, the Thunderbolts* trailer makes it seem that he is.
One of the most significant moments in the trailer was the introduction of Bob, played by Lewis Pullman. He is seen in a rather eccentric appearance due to his ill-fitting clothes. As the MCU fans are aware, Bob can transform into the superhero Sentry in the comics. Further in the trailer, a large logo is also teased. If the symbol is turned to the side, it resembles an S. This logo seems similar to Sentry’s logo in the comics.
Additionally, Bob’s interesting yet mysterious introduction in the trailer suggests the makers are planning a huge revelation of him as Sentry. He is one of the most powerful heroes in the comics. However, the twist is that Sentry has a disadvantage to his powers which is called the Void. The Void is a counterforce to him, with his original powers triggering massive chaos and destruction all around.
Additionally, the Thunderbolts* trailer hints that Bob was experimented on, likely by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, making him bulletproof and unstoppable. Thus, Sentry’s Void in the comics and the hints in the trailer imply how he might turn out to be a villain, posing a huge threat to the Thunderbolts* team. If these theories turn out to be true, Sentry’s addition to the MCU as a villain can raise the stakes for Thunderbolts.
Thunderbolts* is scheduled to be released in May 2025.
