Speaking theoretically if the purge was real volunteer medics during the purge like them would absolutely exist and there would be an unspoken rule that they wouldn’t be hurt/harmed, at the same time they don’t interfere with the atrocities they are seeing because while they don’t support it its legal and peoples “right”. Honestly if the purge was an actual thing, the Sane people would likely group together vs the INsane, who would easily lose considering a majority of normal everyday people would be horrified to even leave their homes let alone go on senseless killing sprees, they'd just want to keep them and their loved ones alive until morning. It would not be like this.

something about the shot where the lincoln memorial is in the background and in front is just the word purge written in blood along with burning corpses and the intimidating, devistating music just feels so unsettling. Like showing how humality has really lost it, and for this one night all the history in the world, everything great leaders like lincoln have fought for, is forgotten. Instead people are roaming the streets with masks and bloody hands, murdering the innocents that they once all fought to protect. Such a good shot.
