Splinter Cell: Deathwatch Teaser Trailer Announces Netflix Anime Series With Liev Schreiber

A teaser trailer for Splinter Cell: Deathwatch has been released.

Splinter Cell: Deathwatch is a new Netflix anime series that will see Liev Schreiber voice the character of Sam Fisher. Based on the Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell video games, the series comes from Ubisoft Film & Television.

What happens in the Splinter Cell: Deathwatch trailer?

The Splinter Cell: Deathwatch trailer sees Sam Fisher’s goggles sinking in a large pool of water. Fisher also is seen sinking, while flowers are placed on the casket of a man named Douglas Shetland.

“Don’t be afraid,” Schreiber narrates. “Darkness is a good thing. Once you get used to the shadows, you see bad people for who they really are. And they’ll never see you coming for them.”

Further plot details are not available at this time. Additional casting beyond Schreiber has not yet been announced.

Per Variety, the series is co-directed by Guillaume Dousse and Félicien Colmet-Daage. Derek Kolstad serves as the head writer and executive producer. Kolstad is known for writing the scripts for 2014’s John Wick, 2017’s John Wick: Chapter 2, 2019’s John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum, and 2021’s Nobody, along with the upcoming Nobody sequel, Nobody 2, which will be released in August 2025. He additionally was a writer and co-executive producer on Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Ubisoft Film & Television’s Helene Juguet, Hugo Revon, and Gerard Guillemot also serve as executive producers. The animation comes from studios Sun Creature and Frost.

Schreiber also stars in the new Netflix miniseries The Perfect Couple, which is now streaming. He’s known for playing the lead role in Showtime’s Ray Donovan, while his filmography includes 1996’s Scream, 2002’s The Sum of All Fears, 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, 2023’s Asteroid City, and more.

Splinter Cell: Deathwatch does not yet have a release date.
