The upcoming film will see Cockle return to The Witcher series to reprise his role as Geralt, a role he played throughout the video game series to critical acclaim. Batey and Anya Chalotra will also star in the film, each as their character Jaskier and Yennefer from the live-action version of The Witcher, respectively. Christina Wren is also slated to appear in the film.

“Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople,” reads the synopsis of the film. “He must count on friends — old and new — to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into all-out war.”

Sirens of the Deep continues Netflix’s dedication to The Witcher franchise as a whole. Currently, Seasons 4 and 5 of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the series are in production. An animated film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, also released in 2021, and a live-action prequel series titled The Witcher: Blood Origin released in 2022.
