  1. When the cruise ship is knocked over by the tsunami while the people are in the kitchen, all the kitchen equipment and the food fall onto the floor and scatter all over the place!

  2. No captain nor sailor would ever turn their ship broadside against a large wave.

To be honest, even with waves this big, the carrier would go straight into it and with over 100,000 hp and capable of speed above 35 kn on a nuclear powered 1,000 foot-long carrier. You probably could cross the wave if you went straight into it full ahead.

The cruise ship has much less horsepower vs the nuclear powered aircraft carrier, to push itself over the wave, however out at sea, the waves wouldn’t be that steep, so they could’ve probably made it too.

And again, there’s just no way that the cruise ship captain wouldn’t at least try to get over the wave by turning directly into it

  3. this movie is so tragic because at the end there is no happy ending…. the ones who helped prepare for the disaster along with the common people abandoned and just left to die, most of the survivors are military, corrupt politicians and rich folks who valued luxury and comfort more than saving lives, all of them undoubtedly will enslave the "lesser ones" surviving to build them a new society where they can remain at the top

  4. Roland Emmerich will always be one of the most underrated talents in Hollywood for me. Sure his films are over the top cheese, but they still have skill and heart too. The man has a clear passion for making pure entertainment.
