1:15 I swear this is the felling when you’re getting chased by a monster, and you slowly just run or start tripping over something and it’s very annoying and scary.
Holy crap, I'm so glad I never bothered to watch another one of these horrible movies. The first half of Conjuring 1 was so smart and subtle, and then it turns into a standard horror movie where Ed and Lorraine Warren are superhero ghostbusters? They were literally con artists that preyed on people who went through a recent significant loss, not ghost hunters to be portrayed as superheroes.
For the most part, the Conjuring was cheesy and not very scary, but I did appreciate the design of the Crooked Man as a villain, and it was nice that the parents were able to see the scary monster for once. It's such a tired old trope to have a child see something frightening, run to the adults, only for the frightening thing to disappear and the parents to assume the kid was having a nightmare or an overactive imagination.
